Eight teams of three sculptors each makes their creations in twenty-four hours. Come and have a look and be impressed by the imaginative snow sculptures.

Traditional Sami Week
Sami Week- Ubmejen Biejvieh is a celebration of Sami culture.This is an annual event in Umeå where visitors of all ages can experience diverse activities from reindeer racing to traditional Sami singing, jojk. Many films are shown during the week at the museums, the center of activities all week long. The Samiland (Sápmi) involves the northern part of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia.

Umeå Culture Night
A night devoted to culture that focuses on local talents and that crosses boundaries in the name of diversity. Central Umeå will be filled with art, dance, theatre, film, music, poetry, fireworks, new circus, etc.

Umedalen Skulptur 2010
In 1994Galleri Andersson Sandström and the real estate company Balticgruppen set up Umedalen Skulptur, a sculpture park. In the last 13 years the park has exhibited works by over 150 national and international artists. Every second year there is an opening at the park to showcase the updated collection.

Umeå Jazz festival
In 1968 the Jazz Festival in Umeå started.The story has evolved since that time with big legends, such as the mighty Duke Ellington, mysterious Sun Ra, charming Ella Fitzgerald, the elegant Count Basie, the diva Miles Davis, the one and only BB King, and many others. Not to forget all the Swedish and Scandinavian contemporary musicians that have thrilled us over the years.Today the festival has grown into a bastion of music and improvisations that occur every new fall.This event works as a strong inspiration for both musicians and audience.

Celebrate Lucia
Lucia procession at Olofsfors Brukin Nordmaling.The procession is headed by a girl wearing a crown of candles (or lights), while others in the procession hold only a single candle each.They sing traditional Lucia songs.
