Car: One will reach the State Capital Kiel easily using the expressways A7 / A210 / A215
Train: The central station lies in the heart of the city, close to the ferry terminals, bus stops and taxi stand. There are daily connections with the IntercityExpress and local trains. Ferry: There are daily ferry schedules from and to Oslo, Göteborg and Klaipeda via Color Line, Stena Line and DFDS Lisco.
Bus: The main bus terminal lies between the central train station and the premises of the Tourist- Information Kiel.
Plane: The international airport Hamburg is only 85 km away from Kiel. From there it is only a 50 min. trip with taxi or the airportbus

Sunday with open shops
The four-day-long old town folk festival is based on old traditions. The festivities are presided over by the historical figure of Mayor Asmus Bremer and his wife Katharina woken up every year for the event.

12th Annual Ice Festival (Stadtwerke Eisfestival)
