Kotka is a small maritime city located on the cost of the Eastern Guff of Finland, just an hour's drive from Helsinki. As a frontier town of Russia, Kotka has a fascinating history. The Kymijoki River, the longest river in Southern Finland, flows into the sea in Kotka. The city of Kotka offers great opportunities for various outdoor activities including archipelago cruises, fishing, sailing and shooting the rapids. The weekly programme in the summer¬time provides plenty of opportunities to take part in local activities and to admire the city's many attractions.
