Cooperation between Investment Parks

On 7-8 September this year in Malbork took place a conference: "International co-operation between investment parks in the Baltic Region" and presentations of the local companies and discussions between representatives of the companies from the partner towns from Sweden and Germany.

An initiation of that economic forum was a famous voyage on the Nogat river (last year) during which the economic and tourist co-operation agreement was signed by the Administration of the town of Malbork, Malbork Commune, the city of Sztum, Sztum Commune and Malbork District. The newly begun co-operation brought into existence the Intercommunal Association "Malbork-Sztum Investment Park". The objectives of areas included in Malbork-Sztum Investment Park are industrial investment, tourism industry and conference centre.

The cities of Malbork and Sztum, which constitute the Investment Park, are extremely popular tourist destinations. One of the main attractions is the biggest brick gothic castle in Europe, which stands on the Nogat river, a former capital of the Teutonic Order State. In 1997 the castle was included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Each year the castle is visited by 500.000 tourists who enjoy numerous attractions and great performances which allow tourists to go back to medieval times. Moreover, Malbork is famous for its arcade houses in the Zulawy District and its Dutch farms.
