The largest carnival in the Northern Europe - a time when the whole city bubbles with high spirits. The main event - the carnival parade - is without a doubt the most visited event in Aalborg throughout the year.

Aalborg and Løvvang Bowling Center has been awarded the hosting of the men’s European Championship in bowling. The Championship will take place from June 4 to the 14 and it is expected that a minimum of 300 players, leaders and a similar number of visiting guests is coming to town.

Danish Soldiers’ Association is hosting the Nordic Tournament in 2015. The tournament is held every second year with participants from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark and in 2015 the tournament will take place in Aalborg.

For the second successive year the half-marathon will take place in Aalborg. It is a marathon with a great atmosphere and a quick route with few turns and almost no gradients in order to get past as many spectators as possible so the participants gets motivation all the way to the finish line.

The Nordic Baltic Championship in dressage will be held at Aalborg Sports equestrian-center Fintrupgaard. It is the first time that an equestrian center in North Jutland hosting such a big riding championship. The participants from Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Estonia and Denmark will be invited.

It is a yearly event that takes place in Nibe forest, called Skalskoven. The festival has grown throughout the years and has now become an event with big international and national artists.

In cooperation with SBR Sports the first edition of Ocean Lava Triathlon is being held in Aalborg. The event area already opens on July 2, so the city will be filled with athletes from July 2 to July 4.

Green Concerts take place 8 times every year in 8 biggest cities, including Kolding, inviting a variety of Danish artists to perform on stage. Green Concert is Nothern Europe's biggest concert tour of its kind.

The international organization Sail Training International, which is the big race for sailing ships, The Tall Ships Races has selected the harbours to host the event in 2015. Besides Belfast, Aalesund and Kristiansand is Aalborg selected to be host harbour. It will be the fourth time Aalborg hosts the race, and Aalborg have the honour to been selected as the final harbour in 2015.

At the same time as The Tall Ships Races, Aalborg city will be filled with hundreds of young ones from different countries. They will compete against each other in different branch of sports.

The first edition of the European Tour tournament “Made in Denmark” on Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort August 14 to 17, 2014 has been a great success. Nearly 85.000 golf enthusiasts secured a ticket to watch world-class golf on Danish soil. In 2015 there will be a golf feast again in Himmerland, Denmark.

A variety of the city's cultural institutions arrange a wide selection of events and activities all over the city.

UCI has awarded Denmark with hosting of the amateur world championships in road cycling. It will be held in Aalborg and Hobro from September 3 to 6, 2015. There is expected about 2500 participants (2000 international and 500 national participants.)

Aalborg has been awarded with the hosting of The World Championship in Rescue Dog 2015. It is expected that approximately 130 dogs with their leader and families will participate.
