Internationals Relations

The School of International Relations has been established in 1994. It has become the second centre of training high-educated specialists in international relations. Currently there are two main studying fields within the School: International Relations and Regional Studies.

The School's studying process is implemented within five departments. The training of the future specialists is conducted by the leading experts from different faculties of the St. Petersburg University. Profound knowing of two languages is obligatory for every student.

The School regularly holds scientific conferences devoted to urgent problems of international and regional development. The subject of the latest of them was EU-Russia relations in the end of 20th century.

Since 1996, students are accepted for the MA programme on European Studies. It is the first programme of this kind in Russia, brought into existence by the joint project with the European Commission based on the TEMPUS/TACIS grant. The School was very successful in establishing international links - it co-operates with universities and research centres in Europe, North America and Asia. The School is one associated members of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs, USA.
