Malmö and Copenhagen - one Urban Area

Malmö and Copenhagen are the main centres for growth and development in the Oresund region. In order to take advantage of the great cultural and human resources available in the region the two cities have decided to work according to a specified vision of cooperation and integration.

The common goal for the cities is to get the residents of two cities to feel like residents in one coherent urban area. New project ideas are born everyday and new constellations for co-operation are established both within the private and the public sector. Regular contacts between politicians, civil servants, schools and businesses are part of every day life.

A political working group has been established, consisting of leading politicians in Malmö and Copenhagen, which will ensure that initiatives are taken within areas where they can make a substantial change. The two cities are dedicated to make a difference where others have not yet planned or taken initiatives. These initiatives will function as inspiration and engine to a more integrated Oresund region.
