Växjö challenges the Swedish Government and European Cities to join the "fight" against climate change

Dear UBC friends,

City of Växjö has taken the initiative to challenge the Swedish Government and other European Cities to join the fight against climate change. Yesterday, as a part of the Earth Week Programme (held together with the Linnaeus University and the company network Sustainable Småland), the so called “Växjö Declaration” was signed. In this declaration, Växjö gives its commitment to become a fossil fuel free city by 2030. In a broader perspective, this may be an impetus for the Swedish Government to make Sweden a fossil free country.

We believe this is a good example of how a UBC member city could contribute to the development of the Baltic Sea Region.
