The Commission's on Tourism Meeting in Szczecin

UBC Commission on Tourism held its annual meeting in Szczecin / Poland on 10 October 2008. The main topic of the meeting was "Cross-border cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region in the field of tourism".

Several intereting crossboarder projects and initiatives were presented, e.g. "A Baltic neopolis in the cross-border region", "United in Diversity", "Tauchgondel". Ms Betina Meliss, University of Greifswald, made a presentation on "The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region - Overview and Contribution of the UBC Commission on Tourism". Later the participants were given colourful sheets of paper on which they had to put their own ideas on 3 topics: challenges, measures and financial support. Ms Meliss will prepare a document summing up all the ideas.
