The Power Edge Programme Invitation
Today we face a strong public and political
demand on energy savings. The UBC Energy Commission has
developed a method to train key personnel in energy efficiency
in order to save energy, with a focus on electricity. The
participants will achieve both the knowledge and the motivation
to develop and adopt plans for a more rational use of energy. We
are glad to invite you to participate in the UBC Energy
Commission's Power Edge Programme that aims to reduce the
use of electrical energy.
The main objectives:
- to reduce the local use of electricity with up to 20-40
% and additionally reduce the emissions of CO2,
- to reduce the cost of energy,
- to improve the competitiveness and strengthen the local
industries and business by more efficient use ofelectrical
energy.
Expected results: The objective of
this programme is to train and educate key personnel in
the participating cities. At the end of this programme the
participants will have achieved both the capacity and the
motivation to develop and implement effective energy savings
plans.
Methods for savings in electrical energy
in cities, and in schools and office buildings as well as
private enterprises, industries and offices will be developed
and implemented at a local level.
The key personnel will create a network that
will keep on exchanging experiences and improving their
skills in using new methods for energy saving. The Commission
will develop and provide computer-based software solutions
that will be used to facilitate and monitor the implementation
and evaluation on energy efficiency. A group of scientists
will closely follow the project and work on research for
finding and evaluating new and improved methods for the
savings of electric energy. Please do not hesitate to contact
us for any inquiries regarding the Commission or our Programmes.
