I in my town - Riga

I'm a girl. I am 17 years old and I live in Riga. My name is Anita. These are words how I usually introduce myself to other people.

I can tell you a bit about myself and my hobbies. If I will tell you that my hobbie is sport you probably will think: "O! It is so boring and common place!". And that is why I will say that the sport I am going on with is tourism and climbing. In my opinion it is much more interesting than other, everyday sports. That way of sport means for me much. I am going on with it almoust 4 years now. The best moments in that sport are: you can go on a hike whenever you want and always there will be somebody who will enjoy you, tourists are the best people in the world and it will never ever be boring with them. On more good thing is that I have found very good and loyal friends there. I like that my classmates usually are asking where I am going to go next weekend or have I got some competition.

I will tell about usual hike we have. At first all participants are meeting at one place. Very often the hike starts at 7 or 8 a.m. so people are sleepy, but all of them are full of enthusiasm even if it is raining outside. The hike is 2 or 3 days long and we carry out ~ 40km. It is time full of jokes and fun. When hike is finished nobody wants to go home. In the next training and even long time in the future the hiking participants are remembering and laughing. The place where the hike will be comitted we can choose by ourselves. It usually choosen near waters and different cultur objects.

One more interesting time is when we are going to the competition. There are no much tourists in Latvia if we are comparing with basketball players. So competitions every year are organised by the same clubs as previous.

So these are things I like to do most of all. By the way I have one more interest and it is youth club.

And now after you have read that article you can see what I'm doing and what kind of things youth in Riga are doing.
