CBSS Vacancy Notice - Senior Adviser and Head of Unit CBSS Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings

The Heads of Government at the CBSS Summit in 2006 decided to create the Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings (TF-THB), to initiate activities to combat trafficking in human beings in the Region.

The TF-THB expert group is composed of national experts on human trafficking from ministries in all the 11 CBSS Member State and strives to counteract trafficking in human beings in the Baltic Sea Region and its near vicinity through preventive and protective activities. It is an arena for transfer of knowledge and best practices and strives to address identified flaws in current policies and operative work in the region through joint collaborative projects.

The Senior Adviser works under the supervision of and reports to the Director General of the Secretariat.

As a Senior Adviser to the TF-THB your responsibilities will include i.a. the following:

Leading the planning and design of TF-THB activities; including counter trafficking projects, actively seeking funds and drafting project applications;

Managing and/or monitoring the implementation of projects, including budget and staff responsibility;

Provision of analytical, technical and secretarial support to the Chair and the delegates of the TF-THB and assistance in the preparation of meetings and events related to the portfolio;

Preparing and drafting high-quality reports, background papers etc;

Liaising and cooperating with other national and international organisations and representing the TF-THB at high level meetings.

The job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the incumbent of this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of the position. Responsibilities may vary and change over time, depending on the development of the CBSS and of the Secretariat in the general framework of Baltic Sea Cooperation.

The position of Senior Advisor involves frequent travel to destinations in CBSS Member States and occasionally beyond.

A competitive remuneration and allowances package, depending on expatriate status, professional background and family situation, is offered.

The Senior Adviser will be appointed for a period of four years with possibility of prolongation for up to two years. The suggested starting date for the position is 1 September 2014.

The place of employment is Stockholm.
