Dear Friends,
In 2010 UBC Commission on Sport launched the campaign “Sport is cool!” whose main objective is to promote sport as an interesting alternative to regular pastime. One of such alternatives is active tourism. Complying with the objectives of the campaign, this year UBC Commisison on Sport has decided to announce grant session entitled “Sport is cool II” in order to promote and award those projects which offer original ways of encouraging young people to pass actively their free time as well as to discover tourist opportunities of the Baltic Sea Region.
“Sport is cool II” grants are addressed exclusively to UBC member cities. Municipalities are the only entities entitled to take part in grant distribution, and therefore sports clubs, schools, non-profit associations and institutions willing to apply are obliged to submit their application forms by the agency of a municipality. Each UBC member city is allowed to submit only one application. The 2011 grants will be awarded to UBC member cities for sports projects which meet the a/m conditions provided that they are realised in the period October 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012. Completed application forms (see Part II of this document) should be e-mailed to the UBC Commission on Sport Secretariat by September 26, 2011 at the latest.
