Baltic Transport Outlook 2030 workshop, Schwerin, 17-18 March 2011

Dear Sir/Madam,

Baltic Transport Outlook 2030 is a project of the EU Baltic Sea Strategy within the Priority Area 11 “To improve internal and external transport links”, flagship 11.1. "Complete the agreed priority transport infrastructures".

Contracted by the transport ministries of all countries in the Baltic Sea area and attended by the European Commission, the project will show challenges and possibilities of the transport system in the region. The core of the project is a study that will map the transport infrastructure in the BSR and the flows of goods and passengers - between the countries in the region and between the BSR and other areas.

The Baltic Transport Outlook 2030 workshop will be held in connection with the CPMR-BSC transport working group session on 17-18 March 2011 in Schwerin, Germany. This event provides a possibility to discuss the scenarios for the future development of the Baltic Sea transport system. The UBC Executive Board during its meeting in Naestved on 17 February 2010 decided that the UBC will take part in the flagship project 11.1.

Attached please find information about the project, programme of the workshop and practical info. Interested UBC member cities are welcome to take part in the workshop.

with kind regards,

Pawel Zaboklicki
