Dear Sir/Madam,

In 2009 the European Union adopted the new strategy for the Baltic Sea region. Subsequently the European Commission adopted an action plan with flagship projects in order to implement the strategy.

The UBC Executive Board at the meeting in Naestved, 17 February 2010, decided to select four flagship projects in which UBC will be involved.

UBC member cities are invited to participate in the Flagship project 8.4 "Make the Baltic Sea an Eco-efficient region" Eco-Region conference in Naestved, 1-3 June 2010, attached the conference programme and practical information.
