UBC Communications and Marketing – looking ahead into 2015

UBC is currently actively reorganising its structure in order to better serve its member cities and promote their interests in the Baltic Sea Region. Along with the consolidation of the Commissions, UBC is also developing its communications and marketing, for the same reasons.

A part of the process has been employing Communications Manager Irene Pendolin, who started her work this autumn.

“UBC is a prominent network in the Baltic Sea Region with over 100 member cities and a long history. It is important that we continue to improve our work on all levels, including communications and marketing”, Irene Pendolin says.

Future developments in communications and marketing include among others updating the UBC website and creating a network of communicators that consists of UBC member cities’ and commissions’ representatives.

“In development processes it is especially important to hear and utilise the views and ideas of our members. I would be very glad to hear all comments, questions and ideas the member cities have on UBC communications and marketing, so please be in touch!”

Consolidation of the UBC Commissions

Consolidation of the Commissions is currently in the stage of waiting for the member cities’ replies to the UBC President’s letter on taking part in the new Commissions and the names of each city’s Communications Expert to take part in the new UBC communications network.

Deadline for this is 15 January 2015.

UBC communications and marketing and consolidation of the Commissions were both discussed at the UBC Board meeting in Växjö in October. The next Board meeting will take place in Kemi in February.
