Integrated planning in practice!

A joint seminar between Urban Planning commission and the Gender Equality commission was held in Umeå 26 to 29^th of may. The city of Umeå was earlier host for a Urban Planning seminar in 2000 and it was now time again. We had 35 participants from 18 cities and 7 countries who attended the city planning seminar called “Building the Inclusive city”. The city of Umeå showed its best weather and we had three sunny days to focus on social sustainability and planning issues. This was the first joint seminar between gender and urban planning and we found it fruitful mixing different competences and working integrated with planning issues.
