Dear UBC Friends,

UBC Board has together with the Baltic Development Forum and City of Turku taken the initiative to prepare a concept for a “Baltic Sea Region Urban Forum for Smart Cities”. The project is managed by Smart City Lab Tartu on behalf of UBC.

Its objective is to form a broad network with participation of cities and towns that will effectively address challenges and realize opportunities for making green transition towards sustainable societies.

We had an occasion to hear a short introduction to the BUF project in Mariehamn, on 2 October.

Hereby, I would like to heartily invite to the first project development meeting, open for all interested partners, that will take place on 20 January 2014 (new date !!!) in Tartu, Estonia. We call all UBC cities, businesses and citizens organizations to participate in this challenging process and share the ideas, concepts and best practices.

Per Boedker Andersen
