Meeting of the UBC-EU Coordinators Network

The last UBC-EU-Network meeting took place in the Hanseatic City of Rostock from10th to 11th of April. It was the second meeting of the network held in Rostock. The date was fixed up at the last meeting in December 2007.
Unfortunatelly not everybody who joined the meeting in December could come this time to Rostock. Especially the participants coming from Szczecin were not able to leave their city because of the bad weather they had in Szczecin. So it was a smaller group having the conference in the rooms of European Integration Center (EIZ).

The first day was dedicated to call the results of the last meeting to mind and to discuss what was really realizable for the network to do. One of the most discussed ideas of the last meeting had been to participate in the "Open Days" in Brussels in 2009. This plan had been forwarded to the UBC Board in February 2008 and the Board had agreed in principle.on the condition to make our plans in coordination with the UBC-Antenna in Brussels.

Everybody agreed to cooperate with the Antenna and the next topic was dealt with the problem of better presentation of the UBC in the European institutions, networks and regions. We had also been discussing about closer cooperation with several commissions.

After having a guided tour of St.Mary'Church we had a Late Date Dinner at the restaurant "Ratskeller" near the City Hall and talks.
The next day we continued our discussions of the day before and took the following decision:
- Our next meeting will be in the office of the UBC-Antenna in September 4th to 5th in Brussels to prepare a reception for UBC-members during the Open Days in October.
At the same time we want to examine the possibilities of participating in the Open Days 2009.
We also want to discuss our Action Plan for 2009 like.
Participating in the European Week in May
An event in Brussels in connection with the European Year of Creativity, Culture and Education
UBC promotion in each city (with the commissions) and so on.

We also decided to update our UBC-EU network flyers and to ask about more promotion material.
After having lunch together the meeting was concluded.
