The Grand Race around Lake Viljandi with a distance of 12 km is the oldest traditional running event in Estonia and has been organized since 1928. Both the cross country running as well as the nordic walking race around lake Viljandi are truly popular events among professional marathoners as well as among amateur runners and walkers. Furthermore, the winner’s name is cut into stone every year!
