Tartu Marathon is the biggest one in Eastern Europe, which brings together about 10 000 participants every year. The tracks run through beautiful South-Estonia. Adults can choose between the 31 km and 63 km distances, while younger athletes can take part in races designed especially for them. The marathon forms part of the Worldloppet international cross-country skiing series.

BY BUS: Each day more than 40 express buses make the 2.5-hour trip from Tallinn's Central Bus Station. www.bussireisid.ee
BY CAR: Driving from Tallinn is fairly simple. Head out of town along Tartu mnt. and pass the airport (on your left), then just drive along the same road all the way down to Tartu.
BY PLANE: There are international flights arriving at Tartu airport, departing from Helsinki. www.tartu-airport.ee
BY TRAIN: Trains to Tartu are scarce, with only five of them leaving from Tallinn every day. A ride takes about two hours.
